Too long I’ve lived this act
All the efforts made to adapt
Forced to work, bow, and scrape
Just to be something I hate
Why should I follow you,
With your narrow point of view?
Why should I live this lie?
All that’s left is to defy
For years I’ve lived with shame
Forced to play all your games
Don't bother with your hollow advice
I'm through with all the sacrifice
Who are you to deem what’s right?
You see the world in black and white.
Why should I be like the rest,
Mindless, blind, and suppressed?
I’m not your puppet or some drone
The path I follow is my own
You expected that I’d obey,
But I always go -my way-
It should come as no surprise
That I failed all of your tries
So quick to say what I lacked
But it was you that held me back
I won’t back down or fall in line
You’re too blind to read the signs
While this way might be long
I’ll keep going just to prove you wrong
Who are you to deem what’s right?
You see the world in black and white.
Why should I be like the rest,
Mindless, blind, and suppressed?
I’m not your puppet or some drone
The path I follow is my own
You expected that I’d obey,
But I always go -my way-
